I’m still not using Yahoo, though. Anyone here who is not using Yahoo will continue to not use Yahoo, because just by buying a site doesn’t mean your visitors will suddenly skyrocket. If I owned a restaurant and bought one that was a mile away with an entirely different bread and butter crowd, but did nothing to change the original restaurant, the people who frequented the place I just bought will not suddenly flock to the original restaurant.

Yeah…I still really don’t like this whole thing. It’s all very unsettling. And I still don’t understand how they think it’s going to work. I mean, I won’t be using Yahoo because there’s nothing it can offer me (I already use Google stuff and I’m content with it)…and it’s probably safe to say the same for a good number of users on this site. Not to mention their target audience (young and old) that they want to use Yahoo isn’t exactly what they’re going to find on Tumblr.

We will see, Yahoo, if you hold up to your “promise not to screw it up” (which, by the way, is a horrible thing to say and not reassuring in the slightest). Considering your track record and some of your statements in this very blog post…you’re not convincing me. At all.
